Biography:
Wan Xiaolong, a male, born in April 1964 in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, is a doctor of philosophy and bachelor of science. He is a doctoral supervisor of the school of Marxism, and also the director of the "research center of philosophy, logic, and history of science and technology" of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. Working as the chief expert on the "philosophy of science and technology" of the National Marxist project, he is also a visiting scholar in the Department of Logic and Philosophy of Science (LPS) at the University of California Irvine. As a postdoctoral fellow in the Applied Epistemology Center of the Paris Institute of technology and the French National Centre for Scientific Research, he has also served as a leader in the discipline of logic and philosophy of science and technology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology for a long time. He is the former director of the Speciality Committee on Information and Science, the deputy director of the Speciality Committee on Philosophy of Science, and also the deputy director of the Speciality Committee on Philosophy of Physics, provided by the Chinese Society for the Dialectics of Nature. Serving as the chair of the Philosophy of Physics Branch of the World Congress of Philosophy in 2018, he is also the vice chairman of the Sichuan Society for the Dialectics of Nature; he is the executive director of The Chinese Association of Logic, as well as the president of the Hubei Association of Logic, and was awarded a leading talent of the "Tianfu Emei Plan" provided by People's Government of Sichuan Province.
Main Research Interests:
Wan is interested in the philosophy and logic of quantum mechanics, researches on National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), as well as important discourses on science and technology innovation in Xi's theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. Presiding over 7 related national projects, he has also published 3 related monographs and more than 60 related papers both in Chinese and English.
Major Academic Contributions:
The STRF theory, which was initially created in 2014, broken through in 2019 and basically completed in 2022, is to create a more concise paradigm that is different from the current academic mainstream for the non-classical information technology.
