Biography:
Wang Yuchen, born in December 1967, is a distinguished scholar with a Ph.D. in Philosophy. He is currently the Dean of the School of Philosophy at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, where he serves as a doctoral supervisor. His extensive research primarily centers on the exploration of foreign Marxist philosophy and ecological civilization theory. Notably, he is a recipient of the special government allowance from the State Council and recognized as a leading figure in the national "Ten Thousand Talents Program" for Philosophy and Social Sciences. Acknowledged as a Cultural Celebrity by the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Prof. Wang is one of the candidates in the prestigious league of the "Four Batches" talent cultivation programme. Besides, he is also recognized as a state-level candidate of the “National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project in the New Century”, elected into the “New Century Excellent Talent Support Program” of the Ministry of Education, and celebrated as a outstanding mid-aged expert in Hubei Province for his exceptional contributions. Furthermore, Wang has an impressive publication record with over 340 academic papers featured in esteemed journals such as Social Sciences in China, Philosophical Research, Studies on Marxism, and Marxism and Reality. Additionally, he has authored 19 scholarly monographs, including Ecological Critique and Green Utopia: A Study of Ecological Marxism, Ethical Critique and Moral Utopia: A Study of Western Marxist Ethical Thought, and Philosophical Critique and the Utopia of Liberation, published by People's Publishing House and other renowned publishers. His outstanding research has been recognized with numerous accolades, including 15 second prizes from the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences Award, as well as the Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award in Hubei Province. He has also has been awarded the first, second, and third prizes for outstanding social science contributions in Wuhan. Notably, he has served as the principal investigator for 15 significant projects funded by the National Social Science Fund, including major programs, key programs, and general programs, in addition to overseeing various programs at the provincial and ministerial levels.
