Biography: Liu Shuguang is Executive Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Senior Editor ofJournal of Peking University (Philosophy and Social Sciences), holding a PhD in Philosophy. He serves as President of the Chinese Society of College Journals in Humanities and Social Sciences, and Standing Director of the China Periodicals Association and the China Hominology Society.
In 2014, he was honored as a Leading Talent in the National Press and Publication Industry by the General Administration of Press and Publication, Radio, Film and Television.
His research focuses primarily on Marxist philosophy. His authored works includeThe Relationship Between Human Activity and the Laws of Social and Historical Development, Globalization and Anti-Globalization, andHistorical Determinism and Subject Selection. He has also contributed to compiling works such asPhilosophy of History, Principles of Hominology, Practical Handbook for Social Science Journal Editing, China's Development Concept in the New Era: A Comparative Study with Contemporary Foreign Development Concepts, andOpening Up New Horizons for Marxism: Deng Xiaoping's Contribution to the Theory of Scientific Socialism.
Professor Liu has published over 110 academic papers in journals includingLiterature, History and Philosophy, Marxism & Reality, Journal of Peking University, Academics, Guangming Daily,andChinese Social Sciences Today. More than 50 of his papers have been reprinted or abstracted by publications such asXinhua Digest, Chinese Social Sciences Digest, Academic Abstracts of Higher Education Journals, theInformation Center for Social Sciences of RUC, andSocial Sciences Weekly.
