Biography: Liu Tongfang is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Marxism, Zhejiang University. He holds the title of Dunhe Chair Professor and Qiushi Distinguished Professor, and serves as Deputy Director of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Zhejiang University.

He receives a Special Government Allowance from the State Council. He has been selected as a leader in the National High-Level Talent Special Support Program, a national cultural celebrity and "Four-Batch" Talent, a national-level talent in the "Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent Project", and has been honored as a "Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions". He has also been recognized as an "Annual Influential Model Teacher of Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Universities".

Professor Liu is Chief Expert of the Central Project to Study and Develop Marxist Theory, Chief Expert of Major Projects of the National Social Science Fund, a reviewer for the National Social Science Fund disciplinary panels, and Chief Expert of the Research Center for Innovation and Communication of Marxist Theory at Zhejiang University.

His main research field is Marxist philosophy. He has published more than 400 academic papers in journals includingSocial Sciences in China, Philosophical Researches, Studies on Marxism, Educational Research, People's DailyandGuangming Daily, among which 9 papers appeared inSocial Sciences in China. He has published 27 academic monographs, translated works and textbooks, and presided over 9 projects of the National Social Science Fund (including 4 major projects).

His research achievements have won 2 first prizes of the Outstanding Achievement Award in Humanities and Social Sciences from the Ministry of Education, 4 first prizes of Provincial Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences, and 2 works have been selected for theNational Library of Philosophy and Social Sciences Achievements.
