Biography:Qu Jianwu formerly served as Deputy Secretary of the Working Committee of Universities of Liaoning Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Education, and Ombudsman at the director level.
He is currently a professor, doctoral supervisor at the School of Marxism, Dalian Maritime University, and a mentor for ethnic minority students from Xinjiang andTibet. He is the prototype of the main character in the filmKeeping Watch over Youth.
A recipient of the Special Government Allowance of the State Council, he serves as a council member of the 10th Council of the China Research Society of Ideological and Political Work, a member of the Advisory Committee for the Teaching of Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Institutions of Higher Education (2021–2025) under the Ministry of Education, and a member of the Expert Committee for the Construction of Teachers' Ethics and Conduct.
He has been honored as a National Famous Teacher, National Model of Teachers' Ethics, National Role Model of the Times, Most Beautiful Striver, National Moral Model, and National Excellent Teacher.
He has presided over 4 key and 5 general projects of the National Social Science Fund, plus more than 20 provincial and ministerial projects. He has independently published over 40 monographs and more than 100 academic articles inQiushi, Xinhua Digest, People's Daily, Guangming Dailyand other journals, with a total published output of over 20 million words. His bookUnderstanding the Universitywon the first prize in the commemorative works for the 30th anniversary of the ideological and political education discipline.
He has visited more than 1,000 universities worldwide, recognized by Guinness World Records as the person who has visited the most universities.
