On September 19, 2025, the 79th session of the Red Rock Lecture Series was held in Room 408 of the School of Marxism. Professor Liu Tongfang from the School of Marxism, Zhejiang University was invited to deliver a special lecture entitled "Academic Paper Writing Skills". The lecture was chaired by Professor Feng Yanli, Dean of the School of Marxism, and was attended by faculty members and students in a lively academic atmosphere.

Professor Liu systematically analyzed ten structural dilemmas in academic paper writing, ranging from overly generalized topic selection, incomplete structure to irregular authorship, and scientifically traced the mechanisms through which these problems undermine academic efficiency. He put forward constructive approaches for improving academic quality by establishing a writing paradigm of problem orientation, literature system, and structural norms. He emphasized that research orientation should be anchored through problem awareness, theoretical depth constructed via a systematic literature framework, academic identity achieved through concise abstracts, and academic dialogue space shaped by logical chains in the introduction. Meanwhile, Professor Liu proposed the core proposition that "theoretical roots should be deeply embedded in the soil of reality", advocating that theoretical innovation be driven by "cross-disciplinary knowledge integration plus critical thinking training", and deepening the principle that "input determines output" as the underlying logic for enhancing academic productivity.
Professor Liu also elaborated on academic ethics and submission strategies, stressing that "academic writing should be grounded in sincerity and bounded by reverence, and guard against the erosion of utilitarianism on the original aspiration of academic research". He creatively put forward the core proposition of "six inequalities", arguing that researchers should dialectically examine innovative breakthroughs, standardized expressions and academic value from an editor's perspective. While upholding academic authenticity, researchers should establish a trinity research paradigm of methodological consciousness, academic ethics, and practical effectiveness.

After the lecture, Dean Feng Yanli expressed sincere gratitude to Professor Liu. This lecture not only systematically analyzed the internal laws of academic writing, but also profoundly inquired into the essential value of academic research. Faculty members and students of the school will engage in research practice with a more rigorous academic attitude and more solid academic training, enabling the "tree of problems" to bloom the "flower of theory" and scale academic heights through upholding integrity and pursuing innovation.
