Biography: Song Chaolong (born February 1977, Bozhou, Anhui) is a Professor, doctoral advisor, and Vice Dean of the School of Marxism, Peking University. He also serves as Vice President and Secretary-General of the Marxism Research Branch of the China Association of Higher Education.
He received his Bachelor of Engineering in Management Information Systems from the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, and his Master's and Doctoral degrees in Scientific Socialism from the School of Marxism, Peking University. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago.
His research interests include German classical philosophy,Das Kapital, critique of financial capital empire, and the history of socialist development. He has published more than 80 academic papers, presided over 7 research projects including national fund projects and key projects of the Ministry of Education.
He is the author of 3 monographs:A Comparison of Chinese and Western Modernization Paths amid Global Major Changes, The Dual Structure of Social Mode of Production: A Critique of Technological Determinism, andThe Origins of Peripheral Socialism; editor of 2 books:Paradigm Shift of Marxism in the Contemporary EraandMarxist Theoretical Research and Teaching; and co-compiler ofA Collection of Marxist Classics: Progress of the Intellect in Modern Europe.
