Biography: Wang Zhihe holds a PhD in Philosophy. He was admitted to the Department of Philosophy at Peking University in 1978 and earned his master's degree in 1988. From 1988 to 1998, he worked at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences as Associate Editor ofSocial Sciences in Foreign Countries. He pursued further studies in the United States in 1998 and received his doctoral degree from Claremont Graduate University, studying under prominent American constructive postmodern thinkers Professor David Ray Griffin and Dr. John B. Cobb Jr.

He is currently a Research Fellow at the CenterforWhitehead Studies, Beijing Normal University–Hong Kong Baptist University United International College, and Executive Vice President of the Institute for Postmodern Development of China. He also serves as a visiting professor at the Central Compilation and Translation Bureau and many Chinese universities, an editorial board member for several international and domestic journals, a standing director of the International Ecological Development Alliance, an advisor to the Budapest Sustainable Development Research Center (Hungary), and an advisor to the Ecological Civilization Research Institute (South Korea).

His main research fields include postmodern philosophy, process philosophy, ecological civilization, and the Second Enlightenment. He has authored, co-authored and edited 11 books in Chinese, English and Russian, includingDictionary of Postmodernism,The Second EnlightenmentandStudies in Postmodern Philosophical Trends. His latest English monographProcess and Pluralismwas published in Hungarian in Budapest in August 2020. He has published over 160 academic papers in authoritative journals at home and abroad. His Chinese workStudies in Postmodern Philosophical Trends, the first comprehensive monograph on postmodern philosophy in China, won the First Prize for Excellent Research Achievements of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Professor Wang and his team have devoted themselves to in-depth exchanges between Chinese and Western cultures and the research and promotion of ecological civilization. They have cooperated with institutions worldwide to host more than 170 international conferences on ecological civilization, process philosophy and constructive postmodernism. Among them, the Claremont International Forum on Ecological Civilization, as a major platform for advancing ecological civilization overseas, is the first and most influential international forum on ecological civilization held in the United States, receiving wide coverage from major media includingPeople's Daily, Xinhua News AgencyandInternational Daily News.
