Biography: Wang Yuchen, born in December 1967 in Wuhan, Hubei, holds a PhD in Philosophy. His research focuses on philosophy of foreign Marxism and ecological civilization theory. He is currently Deputy Director of the Academic Committee, Dean, Professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Philosophy at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law.

He is a recipient of the Special Government Allowance of the State Council. He has been selected as a Distinguished Professor of the Changjiang Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education, a Leader in Philosophy and Social Sciences of the National "Ten Thousand Talents Program", a Cultural Celebrity and "Four-Batch" Talent of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, a National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent, and a New Century Excellent Talent of the Ministry of Education.

He concurrently serves as Vice President of the National Association for the Study of Contemporary Foreign Marxism, Standing Director of several national academic societies including the Chinese Society of History of Marxist Philosophy, Chinese Society of Human Studies, Chinese Society of Value Philosophy and Chinese Marx and Engels Research Association, and Vice President of Hubei Philosophical Society.

He has published more than 360 academic papers in authoritative journals at home and abroad, with 29 papers reprinted in full byXinhua DigestandAbstracts of China Social Sciences, and over 90 byInformation Center for Social Sciences of Renmin University of ChinaandAcademic Digest of Liberal Arts in Higher Education. He has authored 20 monographs published by People's Publishing House and other presses. His works have won 15 provincial and ministerial awards and one China Book Award. He has presided over 5 major, key and general projects of the National Social Science Fund, one National Publishing Fund project, and 10 other research projects at the ministerial and provincial levels.
