Biography: Mei Rongzheng is a professor and doctoral supervisor, and a recipient of the Special Government Allowance of the State Council. He has authored and edited over 20 books, includingMarxism Dictionary(Executive Deputy Editor-in-Chief),Studies on Basic Issues of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics,History of the Development of Marxism,Studies on the Method of Scientific Abstraction in Marx's Capital,History of the Sinicization of Marxism,Leading Social Trends of Thought with Marxism,andBasic Course of Scientific Communism(translated work). He has published more than 400 academic papers in journals such asPeople's Daily,Qiushi Journal,Guangming Daily,Studies on Marxism, andJournal of Ideological & Theoretical Education.
As the Chief Expert, he has presided over a number of key national projects, including the key textbookHistory of the Development of Marxismunder the National Marxist Theory Research and Construction Project, the major National Social Science Fund projectResearch on Leading Diverse Social Trends of Thought with the Socialist Core Value System, the major entrusted National Social Science Fund projectsMarxism DictionaryandAn Overall Study of Xi Jinping's Thoughts on Studying and Practicing Marxism, as well as the key National Social Science Fund projectStrengthening the Ideological and Theoretical Foundation of the Party's Governance. He has received numerous honors, including the National Advanced Individual in Textbook Construction Award, the First Prize of the Second National Excellent Teacher of Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Higher Education, the 5th China Publishing Government Award, the 7th China Excellent Publication Award, multiple first, second and third prizes of the Outstanding Achievement Award in Humanities and Social Sciences granted by the Ministry of Education, and the First Prize of the 12th Hubei Provincial Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award.
