Biography: Clifford Cobb is a prominent American expert in ecological civilization, ecological economics, sustainable development, and social public policy. He is the former editor-in-chief of theAmerican Journal of Economics and Sociologyand currently serves as Vice President of the Institute for Postmodern Development of China.
His major works includePhilosophical Foundations of Ecological Civilization, Practical Steps Toward an Ecological Civilization, Open Schools, Renewed Communities, Green GDP(co-authored with John B. Cobb Jr.),Systemic Educational Reform: A Communitarian Approach, andPath to Justice: The Philosophy and Economics of Henry George.
As one of the earliest Western proponents of the green GDP concept, Mr. Cobb was named one of the "Most Insightful Thinkers of the 20th Century" in 2004, alongside the author ofSilent Spring.
