Biography:Yang Hu, a native of Tongwei, Gansu, holds a PhD in History and is a researcher at Peking University. His research focuses on the history of the Communist Party of China, Li Dazhao's life and thought, modern Chinese intellectual and cultural history, and the May Fourth New Culture Movement.
He is the author ofChronicle of Li DazhaoandThoughts and Figures in the Late Qing and Early Republican China. As a key member, he contributed to theComplete Works of Li DazhaoandComplete Works of Sun Yat-sen, national key book projects of the 12th Five-Year Plan. He has also compiled several collections of modern historical documents and writings, includingHistorical Memory and Historical Interpretation: Celebrities of the Republican Period on the May Fourth Movement, Library of Modern Chinese Thinkers: Li Dazhao, Library of Modern Chinese Thinkers: Xia Zengyou, andThe Dream of Saving the Nation through Constitutionalism: Collected Works of Mr. Zhang Yaoceng.
He has published numerous papers in authoritative journals such asHistorical Research, Modern Chinese History Studies, Party Literature, andJournal of Peking University (Philosophy and Social Sciences).
His awards include the 5th China Publishing Government Award (2021), the Five Outstanding Works Award of Chinese Historiography (2021), and the First Prize of the 9th Outstanding Achievement Award for Scientific Research in Higher Education (Humanities and Social Sciences) from the Ministry of Education (2024).
