The first open class exhibition activity, carried out by Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Center of Ideological and Political Course, Chongqing University

Topic: Full-real Scene Deep Immersive Virtual Simulation Teaching

Attendee: Eight Undergraduate Students from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Computer Science and School of Big Data and Software, Chongqing University

(The Virtual Simulation Experiment Center of Ideological and Political Course of Chongqing University, which originally proposed the method of "Full-real Scene Deep Immersive Virtual Simulation Teaching" and continuously explored on it, is the first one that applied the research results to the teaching practice of ideological and political courses.)

Before the official start of the open class, Xu Yao introduced the exploration of the virtual simulation experiment Center in the " Full-real Scene Deep Immersive Virtual Simulation Teaching",and explained the use method of VR equipment in detail for each student, which aroused the strong interest of the students present.

Next, the students watched the original video titled "The Pure Heart of the Seventh Young Master" through the VR equipment.The video is from the  "Ideological and Political Course Virtual Simulation Teaching Material Library   "of our center, which mainly tells the touching story of Liu Guozhi, one of the martyrs from the Red Crag Village who was loyal to the Communist Party of China(CPC) and devoted his life to the faith.

(Red Crag Village was the activity base of the South Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC during the War of Resistance Against Japan, the center of the CPC to consolidate and develop the anti-Japanese national united front and lead the people to struggle for the revolution in the ruling area of the Kuomintang.)

After watching, the students had a heated discussion on the topic of “Youth”. Zeng Jie, one of the students present said, “Youth to Comrade Liu Guozhi is love and faith due to the common belief among the members of the CPC. It was as the martyrs in the revolutionary era with their precious lives into the eternal spiritual faith, that we should constantly make our due contributions to our Party(the CPC) and country with the professional knowledge!” Finally, Dr. Liu Qian made a summary speech. She hoped that all the students should take Liu Guozhi as a role model, to improve their own ability constantly  and devote their youth strength to the construction of our motherland!

Virtual simulation experiment teaching project construction is an important measure of quality engineering of the Ministry of Education of the PRC(the People's Republic of China).In recent years, Prof. Xiao Tieyan, director of the Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Center of Ideological and Political Course, Chongqing University, led the team members to explore the deep integration of virtual simulation technology and the “Ideological and Political Theory Teaching” in colleges and universities, in order to develop new ways and create new methods of Ideological and Political Education, mobilize college students' enthusiasm and creativity, participation and gain in the period of learning ideological and political courses, to finally enhance the ambition and confidence of being a Chinese.
