On March 20, 2026, the 89th session of the Red Rock Lecture Series of the School of Marxism, Chongqing University was successfully held in Room 412. Professor Deng Chundong from the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences was invited to deliver a special lecture entitled "Basic Tasks for Consolidating the Subjectivity of Chinese Culture". The lecture was chaired by Associate Professor Yang Tianhong, and teachers and students including Professor Chen Ke actively participated in the event.
Professor Deng Chundong systematically elaborated on the ten core tasks for consolidating the subjectivity of Chinese culture and made an in-depth analysis of its profound foundation and value in the new era. He pointed out that during thousands of years of civilizational evolution, the Chinese nation has formed its unique outlook on the world, the universe, society and life, which embody materialism and dialectics, traditional Chinese medicine culture, and the concept of "harmony between man and nature". These have provided rich nourishment for contemporary cultural development. The enduring vitality of Chinese civilization fundamentally lies in its unique cultural genes and spiritual lineage, which carry the spiritual characteristics, pursuits and core values of the Chinese nation.
Professor Deng emphasized that fine traditional Chinese virtues are an important part of Chinese civilization, the core spiritual element for its sustainable development, and also an inherent requirement for building a new form of human civilization and solving common challenges facing contemporary humanity. In the lecture, he also systematically interpreted key tasks including drawing on beneficial concepts of ancient state governance, forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, inheriting and carrying forward Chinese revolutionary culture, consolidating and developing advanced socialist culture, upholding the dominant position of the Chinese language and characters, and promoting lifestyles that demonstrate the spiritual character of the Chinese nation, laying a solid practical path for consolidating the subjectivity of Chinese culture.
This lecture enabled teachers and students of the school to gain a deeper understanding of the basic tasks for consolidating the subjectivity of Chinese culture, and further inspired everyone's sense of responsibility to inherit and promote fine traditional Chinese culture and shoulder cultural missions.
